Commemorating Scott- One year memorial- June 22, 2014

Family and friends gathered in a community walk/run event on June 22, to commemorate Scott's life marking one year after a tragic accident took his life on June 14, 2013, one week before graduating from James M. Hill High School in Miramichi.

An outgoing young man

Scott was an outgoing young man with many friends. He participated in swimming, track, drama, and also had an interest in cars. He was to attend his high school prom with his friend Katelynn, and was planning on helping out with his father’s business after graduation, perhaps following in his footsteps as an entrepreneur. Miramichi Rock n Run (June 24, 2012)

Scott Bowes from Miramichi won the 5km race in a time of 20:12 in the biggest field of 150 runners in the race. Andrew MacIngtosh from Halifax placed second in 20:31 and Mitch Hunter also from Halifax was third in 20:50. (source: miramichi rock n run )
